Babu has more than 30 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry. He graduated from Central Polytechnic College, Chennai, holds Master of Technology - Environmental Engg from Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani, and Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Laws from NLSIU, Bangalore, India.

After graduation he joined Ion Exchange India Ltd as Field Services Engineer and became Business Head for Customer Services Division. After 15 years with Ion Exchange India, he joined GE Water & Process Technologies in 2007 and became Sales Director - Projects & Partnerships, South Asia. Through acquisition of GE Water in 2017 he became Sales Director - Projects & Partnerships, for SUEZ Water Technologies & Solutions South Asia which was later acquired by Veolia in 2022.

He moved to Doha, Qatar in 2022 as Projects Domain Leader for Middle East & Africa, Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions.
