Dr Ahmed Khalifa is a dynamic nuclear energy expert, responsible for overseeing the construction, commissioning, and integration of nuclear power assets into the UAE's electrical grid. His work focuses on ensuring the efficient operation and integration of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, a key component of the UAE's diversified energy mix.
His leadership and technical expertise have been instrumental in achieving key milestones that have transformed the UAE’s energy landscape. His insights have supported EWEC in integrating the nation’s nuclear energy into the power network, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
Before joining EWEC, Dr Ahmed accumulated over 20 years of experience in the nuclear industry at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories and Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. His career has been marked by notable achievements in research and development, nuclear operations, and field services. His extensive experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges associated with nuclear power, which he has consistently applied to drive innovation and excellence in the sector.
Dr Ahmed earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from McMaster University in Canada in 2011. His research focused on flow-induced vibrations in nuclear power steam generators, providing him with a strong foundation in nuclear technology.
