Dr. Jan Haizmann, a fully qualified lawyer with degrees from universities in Germany, the UK, and Belgium, began his career at a German law firm specializing in European competition law and industry regulation. In 1999, he moved to London to work as a regulatory and legal affairs manager for large wholesale commodities firms, focusing on power, gas, and renewable sectors. He later gained commercial experience as a gas origination manager at Glencore Energy. Since 2005, Dr. Haizmann has been an independent consultant and the founder of Correggio Consulting, advising on legal and regulatory aspects of energy trading and serving as an expert in arbitration proceedings. He also held executive roles within the Traders for Europe (EFET) and contributed to various EU technical assistance projects. In 2024, he became Secretary General of the Zero Emissions Traders Alliance (ZETA) in the UAE, focusing on zero emissions markets. Dr. Haizmann has two grown children and lives with his wife in Dubai.
