Eng. Ahmad Al Shamsi is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Sustainable Water Solutions Holding Company (SWS Holding), a pioneer in providing sustainable solutions for water security.

Under his guidance, the company underwent a rebranding as Abu Dhabi SWS Holding, aiming to revolutionize the global water industry by empowering communities with impactful and sustainable water solutions, in line with ADQ's vision for long-term growth.

In addition to his role at SWS, Eng. Al Shamsi serves as the Chairman of E7 Group, formerly known as UPP, a prominent industrial powerhouse in Abu Dhabi specializing in printing, publishing, packaging, and logistics. He has reshaped industry standards through visionary leadership in this capacity. Al Shamsi is also the Vice Chairman of Al Khaznah Tannery, where he champions the development of a global leather manufacturer based in the UAE, promoting local manufacturing and ethical leather production. Furthermore, he is a Board Member at Emarat Petroleum, contributing to the strategic direction and operational excellence of the organization.

A seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience, Eng. Al Shamsi has held several prominent positions throughout his career. Before joining SWS in June 2021, he led the ADNOC Distribution Company, overseeing its transformation and revenue growth, upgrading its operations, and developing new platforms for value creation following its IPO in 2017. A seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience, Eng. Al Shamsi also spent a decade at Borouge, where he served as the Senior Vice President for Global Supply Chain and Senior Vice President for Regional Middle East, Africa & Europe.

Eng. Al Shamsi has been involved in prominent organizations and groups focused on enhancing the chemicals and petrochemicals industry in the GCC. He has served as a Board Member of Ruwais Fertilizer Industries (FERTIL) and as Chairman of the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association’s Supply Chain Committee.
Eng. Al Shamsi holds a Master’s degree in Quality Management from the University of Wollongong and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tulsa.
