Hebah Abbas stands as a paradigm of visionary leadership in the realms of technology and construction, wielding over two decades of expertise. Her dynamic career spans international telecommunications and strategic public educational initiatives, all driven by a passion for transformative change. In the telecommunications sector, Hebah played a pivotal role in orchestrating significant international mergers and acquisitions while spearheading the rollout of national networks. Transitioning to public education, she now applies her extensive knowledge to elevate the educational landscape in Kuwait, contributing to the nation's development.
Currently, Hebah serves as Chief Specialist Electrical Engineer at the Educational Facilities and Strategic Planning Division at Kuwait's Ministry of Education. Her multifaceted role includes membership in the commissioning authority, contracts committee, international collaborations, and the "New Kuwait 2035" follow-up team. As Technical Advisor and Chairwoman of the National Sustainability Committee at the Kuwait Water Association, Hebah leads scientific advancement projects and public awareness campaigns to bolster water security in Kuwait.
She is also a member of the Industrial Board of Advisors at the College of Engineering at the Australian University – Kuwait, where she evaluates engineering graduation projects and frequently serves as a guest speaker on various technology topics, including a recent seminar on the intersection of AI and renewable energy.
A proud alumna of Syracuse University NY, Hebah brings her deep-seated knowledge in telecom, education, construction, utilities, and sustainability to every endeavor. Her career spans 14 years in the private sector and now extends to government roles, complemented by voluntary engagements with NGOs in Kuwait and the UAE. She is a member of the American Business Council (AMCham Kuwait) and serves as the National Coordinator for the FEE Bureau in Kuwait, overseeing the national rollout of ECO School programs and Green Key certification for the tourism industry.
A sought-after speaker, Hebah frequently headlines international conferences, including the 2023 Pearl Bay International Climate Investment and Financing Conference in Guangzhou, China. She is also a regular guest on Kuwaiti national television KTV2 and a contributor to local newspapers and the official Ministry of Information magazine, Al Kuwait. Her articles consistently rank among the top three most read in their category.
