Wim Alen has more than 20 years of international professional experience in the electricity and water sector. His experience includes Audit, Acquisitions, Financial Advisory and M&A, Strategy, Business Development, and Asset Management. He worked on a broad range of conventional and renewable technologies.

Wim is currently Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer for the Global Business Unit Flexible Generation and Retail. In addition to these responsibilities, Wim has taken up in November 2022 the role of Deputy Vice President for Battery Storage within ENGIE. In this role, he is responsible for building up ENGIE’s expertise in utility-scale battery storage and support the successful delivery of 10 GW of BESS worldwide by 2030.
