Lu’ay Khdeir is the Regional Water Market Director, Middle East, at Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group. As part of his role, he leads business growth and development opportunities for existing and new clients across the region.

With more than 25 years’ experience in the Middle East, India, and Europe, Lu’ay has a deep understanding of business development, strategic planning and execution across investment, construction and consultancy sectors. His expertise also covers strategic marketing, alliances and partnerships, account leadership and project management.

Lu’ay has overseen some of the world’s biggest and most challenging projects, such as Al Wathba Wastewater Treatment Plant in Abu Dhabi, Mesaimeer Pumping Station & Outfall Tunnel in Qatar, and Barka Desalination Plant in Oman. He has also led on a number of initiatives focused on cutting carbon, smart infrastructure and prosilience.

He holds a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, from Jordan  University. In addition, he is a Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified PPP Professional (CP3P), and a frequent speaker at key regional events shaping industry thought leadership.
