Sumeet Thakur is the Global Head of Water, Cities, Waste & Circularity for IFC, part of the World Bank Group. In this capacity he is responsible for providing strategic leadership for new business and portfolio management. Immediately prior, Sumeet was the Regional Head of Asset Management/Portfolio Supervision for IFC’s Infrastructure, Energy and Telecom business in Africa. He was earlier Global Head of Power with overall responsibility for developing and implementing IFC’s power strategy. His other IFC assignments have included being Head of New Business in South Asia and Head of Subnational Finance for Asia and Africa.
