Eng. Abdulrahman Alghafri is the CEO of ALDAR ENERGY, where he leads the company’s strategic direction, portfolio development and operational performance. He brings more than 30 years of senior leadership experience across the UAE energy sector, with a track record spanning upstream operations, offshore assets, drilling, power transmission and engineering.

His value lies in connecting strategic ambition with disciplined execution. Drawing on leadership roles at ADNOC, ZADCO and Abu Dhabi Offshore Power Transmission (ADOPT), he brings a practical understanding of how to develop energy opportunities, strengthen governance, manage operational and investment priorities, and build partnerships that support sustainable growth.

Before joining ALDAR ENERGY, Eng. Alghafri served as CEO of ADOPT, Senior Vice President of Technical Engineering and Operations Support at ADNOC Drilling, and Vice President of Operations Support at ADNOC’s Upstream Directorate. Earlier in his career, he spent 24 years at ZADCO, advancing from electrical engineering positions to senior leadership and contributing to major offshore operations and developments, including Upper Zakum.

His expertise covers project execution, operational readiness, asset integrity, reliability, maintenance, HSE, and cost optimisation. This breadth enables him to bring an integrated leadership perspective to Energy sector in the UAE and GCC through ALDAR ENERGY’s growth—aligning strategic objectives with technical background, operational readiness and long-term value creation.

Eng. Alghafri holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology and leadership certifications from London Business School and Harvard Business School.
