Head of Engineering and Technical Support (MENA)
ENGIE
Dr. Gregory Zdaniuk, is a senior engineering leader with two decades of experience in energy systems, utility infrastructure, and thermal generation assets across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. He is currently Head of Engineering and Technical Support for MENA at ENGIE, overseeing the growth and optimisation of the region’s thermal power generation portfolio.
Gregory began his career in applied energy research at Mississippi State University, focusing on heat exchangers and combined cooling, heating and power systems before transitioning to Ramboll in London, where he worked on building energy systems and district energy master planning. He joined ENGIE in 2010 and has since held engineering leadership roles in the UK, China, Southeast Asia and now UAE, covering industrial utilities, district heating and cooling, thermal power, M&A technical due diligence, project development, and multidisciplinary engineering management.
He has built and led regional engineering teams, directed complex cross border projects, and ensured the technical and commercial robustness of major investment files. Fluent in English, French, and Polish, Gregory is recognised for his analytical depth, cross disciplinary understanding of energy systems, and commitment to high integrity engineering and resilient utility infrastructure.
