Dr. the Hon. William Fondleroy Duguid, JP, MP – Senior Minister with responsibility for the coordination of Infrastructural Projects and Minister of Planning and Development in the Prime Minister’s Office, was born on November 20, 1967, in Barbados.
Senior Minister Duguid was educated at Merrivale Preparatory School, Harrison College, Barbados Community College, and the University of Wales College of Medicine. He holds a degree in Dentistry from Cardiff University School of Medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.
An oral surgeon by profession, Senior Minister Duguid successfully contested the Christ Church West constituency for the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) in the 2003 and 2008 general elections. After a stint away from elective politics, he returned to successfully contest the May 24, 2018, election and was appointed Minister of Transport, Works, and Maintenance in the Mia Mottley Administration. He was also successful in the 2022 elections of Barbados where he was re-elected as a Member of Parliament and is currently serving the Constituency of Christ Church West.
Senior Minister Duguid has also served as the 1st, 2nd, 3rd Vice President of the National Executive Council of the BLP. He is also the former General Secretary of the Barbados Labour Party.
